It is every intention of the current committee to continue to run and support a snooker league this season.
As announced at last years AGM, it was always the intention that Ron Beckley stepped down as Chairman at the end of the season due to personal commitments. I for one thank him for his valued service and dedication to the game, as I do all the other volunteers that put in their own time free of charge to run the snooker league each year. They have done a great job in difficult snooker times, and their passion for the sport never ceases.
However, due to personal reasons and commitments, since last season a presentation and AGM has not happened, which has left the league running very late.
What we could do with is some volunteers to join the current and proposed committee members asap:
Ron Beckley - current Chairman; needs a replacement.
Steve Woolford - Treasurer
Peter Dawson - Tournament Secretary (proposed)
Dave Hardy - Handicap Secretary
Terry Greenough - League Representative Teams Organiser
As you can see, the committee has thinned and needs some crucial new blood to aid in getting things up and running as soon as practically possible. The current committee would like to get a league up and running this October, but they need help!
You could fill any of the following committee roles:
Chairman
Vice Chairman
Fixtures Secretary
Ordinary Committee Member (of which there can be more than one)
If you feel you can add something to the league and give up some of your time to get things up and running, please call or email Ron Beckley as soon as possible to help:
